The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV
If we want to be at rest and have peace of mind in this life, then we need to take serious heed to the word above, because the heart is truly deceitful. It makes you feel all kinds of things and if self control is not applied you will indulge and go places you never thought you would go.
Let’s just say, the heart is really emotional – it has a lot of feelings.
Unfortunately we cannot rely on feelings alone because they are fleeting. One minute you feel one thing, another minute you feel another. The heart will toss you to and fro and then leave you hanging high and dry.
So, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 NKJV
